About the role
- Handle inbound calls from providers, pharmacies, and members related to prior authorization requests
- Accurately document reviews and maintain timely, complete records
- Escalate clinical questions and judgment calls to the pharmacist team
- Support additional work as needed, including outbound calls, fax/ePA processing, and monitoring shared mailboxes
- Communicate clearly with internal teams regarding determination status and next steps
- Maintain strict confidentiality of PHI and follow all applicable privacy standards
- Verifiable High School Diploma or GEDStrong communication and phone skills (professional, courteous demeanor)
- Ability to multitask across multiple systems and applications at once
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word/Excel; other Office tools a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation habits
- Willingness to work mandatory overtime/extended work week as needed
- Prior experience in a call center, healthcare, pharmacy, PBM, or customer service setting
- Pharmacy technician license or national certification (preferred, not required)
- Remote/work-from-home requirements
- Ability to work independently in a private workspace
- Hardwired internet that meets minimum requirements (speed test proof may be requested)
