Zachary Piper Solutionsis seeking anInformation System Security Officer (ISSO) IIIto support a government consulting partner in the Washington, DC area. The ISSO III will provide cybersecurity support for Department of Defense systems, ensuring compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements and managing Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities throughout the system lifecycle.
Location: Hybrid (Washington, DC area, 1 day onsite required; additional onsite support as needed for meetings or classified data access) Responsibilities of the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) IIISupport Information System Security Managers (ISSMs) in maintaining cybersecurity compliance across assigned systems Manage RMF activities, A&A packages, security plans, POA&Ms, and continuous monitoring requirements within eMASS Coordinate security control assessments, risk assessments, annual security reviews, and validation efforts with government stakeholders Track vulnerabilities through remediation utilizing tools such as VRAM, ACAS, and other DoD cybersecurity platforms Analyze cybersecurity findings, evaluate corrective actions, and present risk-related reporting to leadership Qualifications for the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) III6+ years of experience supporting cybersecurity compliance, vulnerability management, cyber threat analysis, security change implementation, and incident response activities Current IAM Level II certification (Security+, CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP, GSLC, CCISO, HCISPP, or equivalent) Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and eligibility for JWICS access Experience with RMF, DoD Assessment & Authorization (A&A) processes, NIST publications, STIGs, SRGs, and cybersecurity policy implementation Hands-on experience with eMASS, VRAM, ACAS, HBSS, continuous monitoring, configuration management, and security control assessments Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related STEM field Compensation for the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) III$150,000 - $165,000 (depending on experience)
