Role Description: This is a full-time, HVAC Technician. The work is located the five boroughs, lower Westchester and western Long Island. The HVAC Technician will maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial facilities. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing system issues, performing preventive maintenance, and checking electrical connections related to HVAC equipment, and ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently. The role involves responding to service calls, documenting work performed, following EPA and local safety regulations, and coordinating with supervisors and other trades as needed. The technician is expected to maintain a clean work area, use appropriate tools and test equipment, and provide professional, respectful service to the client's managers.
Qualifications: Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, including Troubleshooting of HVAC systems and related components. Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance, including inspections, filter changes, checking belts and verifying system performance. Knowledge of electricity as it applies to HVAC equipment, including wiring, motors, controls, and safe use of electrical test tools. Current EPA certification for handling refrigerants and adherence to environmental and safety regulations. Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and work orders. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with supervisors, team members, and customers. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites as needed. High school diploma or equivalent; technical trade school training or HVAC certification is preferred. Ability to lift approximately 70 lbs. and move equipment, work from ladders, and perform tasks in varying environmental conditions.
