Role Description:
The Digital Press Operator Trainee is a full-time, on-site role based in Tempe, AZ. This role supports the setup, operation, and monitoring of digital printing presses to produce custom labels according to job specifications. Daily tasks include preparing materials, loading substrates, assisting with pre-press file checks, and performing routine press adjustments. The trainee inspects printed output for quality, records production data, and communicates issues or maintenance needs to supervisors. This role also involves following safety procedures, learning standard operating practices, and collaborating with experienced press operators and production team members.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess skills in Machine Operation and basic equipment handling in a production environment. Candidates should possess skills in Printing processes, including familiarity with digital printing process. Candidates should possess skills in Quality Control, including visual inspection and measurement of printed materials. Candidates should possess skills in Troubleshooting common machine and production issues. Candidates should possess skills in Pre-press activities, such as reviewing digital files and preparing jobs for print. Ability to follow detailed instructions, maintain attention to detail, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting. Basic computer literacy and comfort working with digital production systems and software. Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow into an independent press operator role. High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in manufacturing, printing, or related fields is beneficial but not required. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and adhere to safety and quality standards.
