Role Description: The Shopify Website Designer & Developer for Handmade Brand is a full-time or part-time position. The position can be performed on-site or remotely. This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the brand’s Shopify storefront, ensuring a visually appealing, user-friendly, and high-converting e-commerce experience. Day-to-day tasks include creating and customizing Shopify themes, developing product and collection pages, optimizing site navigation, and maintaining consistent visual branding. The role also involves managing content and imagery, implementing SEO best practices, monitoring site performance, and coordinating with product, marketing, and operations teams to keep the site updated with new collections, promotions, and inventory changes. The designer & developer will regularly test and refine features, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute ideas to enhance online storytelling for handmade products.
Qualifications: Strong proficiency in Shopify design and development, including theme customization and layout creation. Experience with front-end web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and basic Java Script for e-commerce sites. Understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) principles for online retail environments. Ability to manage product listings, collections, and site content to align with brand and merchandising goals. Familiarity with SEO fundamentals, site performance optimization, and mobile-responsive design. Experience working with imagery and graphics, including basic skills in design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, or similar).Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced setting. Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with creative, marketing, and operations teams on-site. Interest in handmade, artisan, or lifestyle brands and comfort translating brand stories into digital experiences.
