About the role

We started in 2012, in an era when due diligence was still largely manual, opaque, and inconsistent. Financial institutions needed reliable intelligence but faced a frustrating choice: slow, expensive boutique firms or fast, superficial automated checks. We saw an opportunity to bring the investigative rigor of boutique firms to scale through technology. From our early days conducting background checks for commercial real estate lenders and private equity deals to building a best-in-class portfolio monitoring platform and what is arguably the industry's most advanced investigations platform, our vision remains unchanged: help businesses see clearly through complexity and make decisions with confidence. Where We Are TodayBased in New York City with global operations spanning the US, Romania, India, and soon-to-be London25,000+ investigations annually across six continents Five consecutive appearances on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies Backed by Sunstone Partners, a leading private equity firm supporting our next phase of growth Trusted by top-tier financial institutions, private equity firms, and Fortune 500 companies Vcheck has a talented and collaborative team. While many of our team members come from backgrounds in compliance, law enforcement, journalism, or intelligence, many others have built successful careers here without prior investigative experience. What unites us is intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and a commitment to getting it right. We're building something different: a comprehensive portfolio risk management platform that operates with the rigor of a top-tier investigative shop and the efficiency of a modern technology company. If you're excited about that combination and ready to build learning programs that scale operational excellence, we'd love to hear from you.
About the role: As Director of Marketing, you will be the chief architect of Vcheck’s market presence, merging strategic product positioning with a high-growth demand generation engine. You will own the narrative that positions our Portfolio Risk Management Platform as essential for Private Equity, VC, and Legal leaders, while simultaneously building the multi-channel strategies that put that narrative in front of the right buyers. In this role, you will bridge the gap between "what we build" and "how we grow." You will oversee the evolution of our brand, lead the end-to-end go-to-market (GTM) strategy for new services, and build a scalable marketing function that converts market interest into revenue. You are a product marketer at heart who knows how to amplify a message through the right channels to drive measurable business impact.
What you'll be doing: Integrated GTM & Demand Gen: Own the full launch lifecycle for new platform features, combining deep product positioning with targeted demand gen campaigns to drive both awareness and qualified pipeline. Narrative & Brand Authority: Refine the Vcheck story, ensuring our ROI-driven value propositions are consistently reflected across our website, thought leadership, and high-touch executive events. Sales & Revenue Enablement: Lead the creation of high-impact tools—from battle cards to pitch decks that empower Sales to win complex deals, while ensuring the "top of the funnel" leads are high-intent. Market & Competitive Intelligence: Act as the internal authority on buyer personas (PE, VC, and Legal), using competitive research to influence both the product roadmap and our broader market category definition. Full-Funnel Optimization: Manage the marketing budget and tech stack, using data to track the performance of product-led campaigns and optimizing for customer acquisition and retention. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture that balances deep technical product knowledge with creative marketing execution. How to be successful in this role We're looking for someone who is passionate about joining a diverse team and is driven to achieve results through ownership, process optimization, and upstanding character.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
