Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) / Process Technician Location: Katy, TX 77449 Pay: $20–$24/hour Start Date: October 12, 2026 Schedule: Rotating Day/Night Shift – approximately one month per shift Example: October – Day | November – Night | December – Day We are seeking a hands-on I&E / Process Technician to support manufacturing operations, equipment troubleshooting, and production cycle-time analysis. This position will work closely with production and automation teams to identify bottlenecks, improve processes, and maintain automated and electrical equipment.
Key Responsibilities: Measure production cycle time (CT) by workstation Accurately enter cycle-time measurements into data sheets Perform cycle-time and bottleneck analysis Record station processes on video to identify non-value-added activities and improvement opportunities Troubleshoot automated equipment, sensors, electronic components, and electrical controls Assist with PLC and automation system troubleshooting Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation Use multimeters and other diagnostic/testing equipment Assist with equipment repairs, calibration, and component replacement Follow all electrical, equipment, and workplace safety procedures Work with production and engineering teams to improve equipment performance and efficiency Qualifications: 2+ years of electrical, instrumentation, electronics, automation, manufacturing, or related technical experience preferred Technical degree/certification in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field preferred Experience with PLCs, sensors, automated production equipment, or electrical controls Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills Experience with cycle-time studies or manufacturing process improvement is a plus Comfortable using Excel/data sheets to document findings Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform hands-on work in a manufacturing environment Must be willing to rotate between day and night shifts monthly
