About the role
A well established, midtown asset manager is looking for someone who's raised institutional money before — not managed a territory, not "supported" a raise, but personally gotten a pension, endowment, or insurance allocator to say yes and cut a check. You'll be building relationships and closing mandates largely on your own hustle, with real ownership over the outcome and real upside if you deliver.
What you'll do:
Originate and close institutional mandates — pensions, endowments, foundations, insurance general accounts, OCIOs — across the Eastern and Central U.S.Work closely with the investment team to sharpen the pitch and know the strategy cold Build pipeline from scratch — this is a hunter role, not a farmer role What you need to have 5–15 years in institutional sales/business development at an asset manager (traditional, hedge fund, private credit, real assets)A specific list of institutional relationships you have personally raised assets from — name the allocators, approximate size of the mandates, and roughly when they closed. Those relationships need to skew east of the Rockies — pensions, endowments, insurers, or consultants based in the Midwest or East Coast Based in or willing to be in the NYC area
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
