About the role

We are seeking aSenior Product Managerto lead the evolution and management of a critical product catalog and data distribution platform. This role will focus on the systems and APIs that ingest, process, and distribute product information across multiple sales channels and business applications. The platform serves as a centralized catalog where vendor suppliers import and maintain product data, including specifications such as dimensions, weight, color, assortments, and other product attributes. The products support the construction industry, including residential and commercial building projects. This is primarily aback-end product management role, working closely with engineering teams to oversee how product data is onboarded, transformed, syndicated, and delivered across downstream systems. While there may be occasional interaction with user-facing workflows, the primary focus is the platform, APIs, data processing, and catalog infrastructure that power the business. This is acontract-to-hire opportunitysupporting ongoing organizational initiatives and growth within the technology organization.
Key Responsibilities: Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for catalog management and data distribution platforms. Lead product strategy, roadmap, prioritization, and execution for APIs, backend services, and data syndication capabilities. Partner closely with engineering teams to design and deliver scalable, reliable platform solutions. Manage large-scale product datasets consisting of hundreds of thousands of SKUs and related product attributes. Drive improvements to API performance, platform reliability, data quality, and refresh cadence. Define requirements and priorities for data onboarding, validation, transformation, and distribution processes. Oversee complex business rules and catalog functionality, including: Dynamic and tiered pricing structures Regional availability constraints Quantity-based discounts and minimum order requirements Product relationships and compatibility mappings Ensure product information is accurately distributed to multiple downstream applications and sales channels. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Operations, and Business teams. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership teams. Drive execution and decision-making within a highly complex, multi-system enterprise environment. The platform serves as a centralized catalog and distribution hub for supplier product data. Vendor partners upload product information that is processed, maintained, and syndicated throughout the organization. Data managed by the platform includes: Product specifications and attributes Dimensions and packaging information Weight and physical characteristics Color and assortment details Pricing and availability data Product compatibility relationships The platform distributes this information to multiple downstream systems, including: Sales representative quote and order creation tools Digital purchasing and commerce platforms Internal operational systems Customer-facing sales channels and applications Success in this role requires managing a highly reliable ecosystem with frequent data refreshes, complex business rules, and large-scale data processing requirements.
Required Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in Product Management, with experience operating at a Senior Product Manager level. Proven experience managing technology, platform, or infrastructure products. Strong background working with: APIsBackend systems Data integration and distribution services Large datasets and enterprise systems Experience partnering directly with engineering teams to deliver technical solutions. Strong understanding of data flow, system integration, and API-driven architectures. Experience managing products involving complex business logic and data processing workflows. Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within a large, matrixed organization. Excellent communication skills and the ability to tailor messaging for technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in retail, eCommerce, distribution, manufacturing, construction, or catalog-driven business environments. Experience with supplier or vendor data onboarding platforms. Familiarity with pricing engines, rules-based systems, or product information management (PIM) platforms. Experience managing large-scale product catalogs and data syndication capabilities.
What Success Looks Like: The ideal candidate is a technically minded Product Manager who enjoys solving complex backend and platform challenges. They are comfortable working closely with engineers, understanding data architecture, prioritizing platform enhancements, and ensuring critical product information flows accurately and efficiently across enterprise systems. This is not a pure user experience or front-end focused product role. Success will come from effectively managing data onboarding, processing, API distribution, and platform reliability at enterprise scale.
