About the role

Electrical Career Specialists is working with a fast-growing electrical equipment manufacturer making a significant investment in its business to recruit an experienced Regional Sales Manager/Business Development Manager for a newly created position. The territory is currently concentrated in the Chicagoland/Milwaukee corridor, with the potential to expand into additional Midwest markets as the company continues to grow. This is a new role for an experienced power distribution professional who can develop relationships, identify opportunities and work with customers and engineers to increase the specification and adoption of the company's products.
What You'll Do: Develop new business throughout the territory with a focus on electrical power distribution and protection products. Build relationships with key end users, engineering firms, EPCs and other strategic customers and partners. Work with customers and engineers during the design/specification stages of projects. Develop opportunities within industrial, commercial, data center and other large power-user markets. Conduct customer meetings, technical presentations and product introductions. Develop and execute territory/account strategies to increase market penetration. Work effectively with the company's manufacturer's representative and internal technical resources.
What We're Looking For: 5+ years of sales, business development or related customer-facing experience within the electrical power equipment industry. Strong experience with switchgear, circuit breakers, fuses/protection, transformers and/or related power distribution equipment. Manufacturer or Rep experience strongly preferred. Proven ability to develop new business and customer relationships. Experience with specification-driven sales and working with engineers, EPCs and large end users. Solid technical understanding of electrical power distribution systems and equipment. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline is a plus; directly related industry experience will also be considered. Must reside within the Chicagoland-to-Milwaukee corridor. Compensation & Travel Base: $150,000–$165,000 + bonus
Location: Home-based within the Chicagoland/Milwaukee corridor
Travel: Approximately 25% overnight travel, plus regional day travel This is an opportunity to join a manufacturer experiencing exceptional U.S. growth and be the face of a high-potential territory at an important stage of the company's expansion. Those not meeting the power equipment industry sales experience will not be selected to interview.
