About the role

Milling Maintenance TechnicianDuties include but are not limited to the following: Monitor milling systems to ensure optimal performance and product qualityPerform equipment maintenance, repairs, and installations throughout the milling facilityRecord process parameters and maintenance activity logsOperate loaders, forklifts, cranes, and other maintenance-related equipmentInspect and maintain metal detectors, magnets, sifters, and safety mechanismsMaintain a clean and sanitary working environment in compliance with GMP and SOP standardsSupport and participate in preventive maintenance programsAssist with packaging operations and general plant upkeep as neededUphold and promote all food safety and workplace safety policiesIdentify and proactively report or resolve facility or equipment concernsAssist with oversight of contractors ensuring PPE, permits, and policies are followedPerform welding, cutting, plumbing, and minor fabrication for repairs and installationsExecute other duties as assigned by the Milling Superintendent or Maintenance ManagerMinimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent 6 months to 1 year of relevant maintenance and/or milling experience preferredCompletion or willingness to complete IAOM milling correspondence and KSU short coursesWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance record-keepingAbility to read and interpret safety manuals, operating procedures, and technical documentationStrong problem-solving and mechanical aptitudeWillingness to work all shifts, weekends, and extended hours as neededSkills and abilitiesTruck and large equipment operationBasic system knowledge: electrical, pipefitting, plumbing, and grain systemsMechanical and troubleshooting skillsUnderstanding of food-grade maintenance requirements and grain dust hazardsFamiliarity with safety documentation, bin rescue, confined space, and lockout/tagout proceduresPhysical DemandsFrequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders, bending, reaching, crouching, and crawlingAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularlyWorking in elevated, confined, or enclosed spacesOperation of hand and power toolsExposure to loud noise, dust, fumes, vibration, extreme temperatures, and chemicalsWork EnvironmentWork is performed in a milling and industrial environmentRegular exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and high placesOccasional exposure to electrical shock, weather elements, and hazardous materialsPPE is required to mitigate risks associated with equipment and environmentNoise level is typically loud due to heavy machinery and equipment useEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
