About the role

Pay: $45–$90/hr Commitment: Flexible, typically 10–20 hours per week Patronus AI is a frontier lab building simulation research and infrastructure to accelerate progress toward human-aligned AGI. We built some of the earliest research in AI evaluation, including FinanceBench, Lynx, SimpleSafetyTests, CopyrightCatcher and Humanity's Last Exam. Our team comes from Meta AI, Amazon AGI and Google. Our customers include foundation model labs and Fortune 500 companies, and we are backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Notable Capital and others. We're looking for AML and BSA investigators who do this work today. In your role you disposition transaction monitoring alerts, investigate cases, write SAR narratives and run CDD and EDD reviews under BSA, FinCEN and OFAC rules. You'll help us show frontier AI models how that work is really done, and where they get it wrong. You don't need an AI background.
What you'll do: Explain how the work is done in your role: the steps, the documents, who decides what, and where things go wrong. Review realistic task packets, such as alert dispositions, case files, SAR narratives, CDD and EDD reviews, sanctions screening results and lookback workpapers, and flag anything a practitioner would find unrealistic. Write scoring rubrics precise enough that two independent reviewers reach the same verdict. Create new, original tasks from fictional scenarios, solve them yourself and document your reasoning. Work independently and asynchronously, meet agreed deadlines and work in reviewer feedback.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
