Respite Care Provider- Caregiver, Home Health Aide

SRI is seeking committed and passionate professionals to provide critical home health services.
Overview
SRI is looking for compassionate health care providers who can provide in-home assistance on an on-going basis for a special needs family member who has a disability, developmental needs or a chronic illness. You will be providing a valuable service for military families in the special needs family member’s home in the areas of health, safety, behavioral, nutritional and recreational needs.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Assist with daily living skills such as bathing, feeding, toileting, lifting/positioning, and dressing.
Provide supervision to ensure the safety of the special needs family member.
Interact positively and communicate effectively with the special needs family member, family members as well as with other staff members.
Prepare written reports and documentation of the assigned family member’s needs and irregularities.
Education and/or Experience Requirements
Respite Care Provider-Level 3
A combination of post-secondary education and/or training and experience in nursing and/or early childhood education, special education, elementary education, or relevant field of study
Related associate or bachelor’s Degree preferred
Designation as LPN or related certifications desirable
Minimum of two years’ experience working with special needs children, youth or adults
Respite Care Provider-Level 4
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study such as early childhood education, special education, and elementary education (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience)
Designation as RN or related certifications is desirable
A combination of technical knowledge/experience working with chronic conditions that require extensive family involvement in care giving
Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience working with special needs children, youth or adults.
