Description
Job Summary: The upholstery laborer fabricates various furniture pieces by pulling vinyl upholstery pieces over pre-assembled wood and foam furniture cores. The completed furniture is then placed in a staging area to be taken to the assembly line. The upholsterers support the furniture fabricators and the assembly line.
Qualifications
Job Requirements: High school diploma or GEDAttention to detail Excellent problem solving skills Good verbal and written communication skills Needs good visual judgment to notice errors and/or defects Ability to accurately read a tape measure Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to work in a fast paced, multifunctional team oriented work environment Ability to work variable hours with short notice (up to 50+ hrs. per week)Physical Requirements and Environment: Must be physically capable of safely lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. without assistance Involves standing, bending, and lifting for long periods as required Requires repetitive movement and extensive use of hands Includes exposure to noise levels that are distracting and/or uncomfortable Requires wearing personal protective equipment
