Job Description:
Ashland University invites applications for the Associate Registrar position. The Associate Registrar is a full time, year-round position. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ways in which they bring value to and will work towards supporting a broadly diverse community. The Associate Registrar oversees daily operations within the Office of the Registrar, leading the office in continuous process and procedure improvements, and implementing best practices. In addition, the Associate Registrar provides leadership, direction, and guidance to office staff; changes in technology, and efforts to provide seamless service and support to our diverse University constituents.
The Associate Registrar oversees the publication of the University Course Catalog, coordinating with departments across campus to ensure policies, requirements, and information is up-to-date and accurate. Provides analysis and support for educational policy decisions. Cross-trains with co-workers to provide back-up as needed. This position has direct supervision of the Assistant Registrar.
University Records
Interprets and clarifies University policies regarding graduation requirements in concert with the Registrar.
Serves as Overseer of: verification of degree requirements; production of diplomas and related commencement programs needs
Serves as an additional FERPA expert
Produces and interprets reports in Informer 5 for Registrar's office and other stakeholders in tandem with the Assistant Registrar.
Develops and trains staff ensuring consistent communication on academic policy and procedures
Contributes to the support, development, and mentorship of staff
Assist in the management of the course evaluation policies and procedures of transfer credit for the University. Assist in working with academic departments, admissions, and academic deans to determine AU equivalencies for coursework taken at other institutions
Cross-trains and provide back-up support to office colleagues, perform general office duties such as answering the phone, assisting students, faculty and staff, and other duties as assigned.
Supervise the day-to-day duties for the Assistant Registrar and other staff.
Required Qualifications:
Five or more years of related registrar office experience.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and experience using Google Suite.
Demonstrated experience learning and utilizing new software programs.
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and analytical skills.
Strong technical skills with regards to the SIS.
Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Experience engaging and supporting a diverse learning community.
Applicant must be currently authorized to work in the United States. Ashland University will not sponsor or take over sponsorship for an employment visa.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Colleague, Coursedog, Softdocs (Etrieve).
