Role Description: The Payroll Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Philadelphia, PA. This role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, including collecting and verifying employee time data, preparing payroll runs, and ensuring payments are accurate and timely. Day-to-day tasks include administering payroll taxes and garnishments, reconciling payroll reports, responding to employee payroll inquiries, and coordinating with HR and Finance to maintain up-to-date employee records. The Payroll Specialist will work with payroll services and systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies. The role also involves identifying process improvements, maintaining documentation, and supporting audits or payroll-related reporting as needed.
Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in Payroll Processing and Payroll Administration with strong attention to detail. Knowledge of Payroll Taxes and related regulatory requirements, including compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Experience managing Garnishments and other specialized payroll deductions in accordance with legal guidelines. Familiarity with Payroll Services platforms and HRIS or financial systems used for payroll management. Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to reconcile data and resolve discrepancies. Proficiency in spreadsheet and payroll software; intermediate Excel skills preferred. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance to employees and stakeholders. Ability to work on-site in Philadelphia, PA, manage sensitive information confidentially, and meet recurring deadlines. Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Previous payroll experience in a multi-state or medium-to-large organization is beneficial.
