Performance Academies is seeking a dedicated, student-centered Fitness Instructor to join our team. Why Your Work Matters Here: Educating the Whole Child: Students participate in daily structured physical education - including martial arts, tennis, and soccer - as part of our whole-child approach to education. What You'll Do: Plan and deliver engaging physical education lessons aligned with state standards and the school's fitness curriculum. Teach sport-specific skills with an emphasis on soccer, tennis, martial arts, and overall physical fitness. Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment. Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of student performance. Prepare students for school fitness competitions and tournaments. Supervise students at all times and ensure student safety. Implement positive behavior management strategies and school discipline policies. Support the needs of students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and behavior plans in collaboration with intervention staff. Foster an inclusive environment that encourages respect, teamwork, and healthy habits. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fitness space. Manage and maintain fitness equipment inventory. Assist with school-wide events, fitness competitions, and assigned duties such as lunch or bus supervision.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred. Valid Ohio teaching license. Successful completion of required state and federal background checks.
Work Schedule: School hours: 7:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Attendance at staff meetings, professional development, conferences, and school events as required.
