Role Description: The Human Resource Generalist & Benefits Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Chatham, VA. This role manages day-to-day HR activities, including administering employee benefits programs, supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, and maintaining accurate HR records across the employee lifecycle. The position oversees benefits enrollment, assists team members with benefits questions, and coordinates with vendors to ensure timely and accurate benefits administration. The role also helps implement HR policies, supports compliance with employment regulations, and provides guidance to managers and employees on HR-related matters.
Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in Human Resources (HR), including generalist responsibilities. Knowledge of HR Policies and employment regulations, with the ability to support compliant practices. Hands-on experience with Employee Benefits and Benefits Administration, including enrollment and vendor coordination. Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle confidential information professionally. Proficiency with HRIS systems and basic office software (e.g., MS Office, spreadsheets, databases).Ability to work on-site in Chatham, VA and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred qualifications: prior experience in industrial or service-based environments, familiarity with safety-focused workplaces, and relevant HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR).Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
