Benefits: Representative We are partnering with a respected local organization seeking a Benefits Representative to support employee benefit administration, participant services, HIPAA compliance, and departmental operations. Pay: $23 per hour
Benefits Include: Medical Coverage 401(k)Paid Time Off Temp-to-Hire Opportunity As the Benefits Representative / HIPAA Privacy Officer, You'll Be Responsible For: Supporting daily benefits administration activities, including filing, scanning, record maintenance, and participant correspondence. Preparing enrollment packets and assisting participants with benefit-related requests and inquiries. Coordinating participant mailings, educational meetings, and benefit presentations. Updating participant information and maintaining accurate records in internal databases. Assisting with open enrollment activities, retirement affidavit processing, and Vacation & Holiday payouts. Coordinating departmental supplies, meeting schedules, agendas, and administrative projects. Working with internal departments, vendors, and service providers to support participant communications and benefit programs. Maintaining HIPAA compliance by drafting Business Associate Agreements and assisting with privacy-related documentation. Investigating potential HIPAA privacy incidents and maintaining required records and reports. Conducting HIPAA privacy training for new and existing employees. Processing and reviewing retirement fund and 401(k) applications. Verifying member eligibility and preparing payment documentation and correspondence. Assisting with COBRA administration, dependent coverage requirements, and carrier eligibility updates. Preparing reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for audits and Board meetings. Taking meeting minutes and supporting special projects as assigned.
Our Ideal Benefits: Representative / HIPAA Privacy Officer Candidate: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred. Previous experience in benefits administration, insurance, human resources, customer service, healthcare administration, or office administration is a plus.
