Pay Range $38.77 - $56.37 Hourly Midpoint $47.57 Hourly Starting salaries generally fall between the minimum and midpoint of the range. The City is looking for a Plan Examiner to join our team in Development Services. If you have experience in commercial or residential building plan review and a strong working knowledge of the International Building Codes, this may be the opportunity you're looking for! Preference may be given to candidates holding an ICC Commercial Plans Examiner certification. This position is open until filled.
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Performs intermediate skilled administrative support work reviewing building and construction plans for compliance, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Building Official ("supervisor"). SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Selection will be based on overall qualifications, skills testing (if applicable), and an interview process. The final candidate selected will be subject to a comprehensive background/reference check commensurate to the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Valid driver's license. Valid International Code Council (ICC) certification as a Plans Examiner or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED, and three (3) years' experience in plans examining, permitting, or building inspection, including one (1) year experience in building construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Experience performing commercial plans reviews. Valid International Code Council (ICC) certification as a Commercial Plans Examiner. Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu.
