"Critical Care APP Locum Opportunity IllinoisA healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with Critical Care experience to join a collaborative ICU team providing coverage across Neuro, Cardiac, and Medical ICU step-down units.
Compensation: $145/hr Position Details Specialty: Critical Care Medicine
Provider Type: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Schedule: Night shifts, 7:00 PM 7:00 AMCoverage: Monday Sunday Minimum of 3 consecutive shifts required Approximately 16 shifts per month Providers must have one day off after working 6 consecutive days No call responsibilities Practice Setting High-acuity ICU environment Adult patient population Collaborative team including attending physicians, fellows, residents, and APPsFull and temporary privileges available
Clinical Responsibilities: Manage approximately 1015 patients per day Develop and implement treatment plans for critically ill patients Perform bedside procedures, including: Central line placement Arterial line placement Manage post-operative cardiovascular surgery patients Provide care for neurocritical care patients, including: Subdural hemorrhages External ventricular drains (EVDs)Participate in the management of: Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs)VA ECMOHeart transplant patients Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care Coverage Model & Support Three APPs provide coverage across Neuro, Cardiac, and Medical ICU step-down units Pulmonary patients are managed in a step-down setting with support from an on-site Pulmonary Fellow Trauma and NICU residents are available on-site Attending physicians provide consultation and support as needed
Preferred Experience: Prior Critical Care APP experience required Comfortable managing high-acuity ICU patients Experience with: Neurocritical care Cardiovascular critical careVADsECMOTransplant patients Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary teamEMREpic
