Job Description: We're looking for a Mechanical Assembler to join a manufacturing team responsible for assembling and testing enclosed drive gearboxes. This is a hands-on position ideal for candidates with mechanical assembly experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment. The role involves assembling gearboxes and subassemblies, reading blueprints, using measuring tools, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining quality and safety standards. Schedule
Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Overtime may be required based on workload)$22.89 - $28.43 per hour
Key Responsibilities: Assemble and test enclosed drive gearboxes Perform gearbox and subassembly assembly operations Read assembly blueprints and use calipers and other precision measuring instruments Record measurements and production data accurately Troubleshoot assembly issues and make necessary corrections Maintain organized work areas, equipment, and tools Follow all safety procedures and company policies Collaborate with Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve production issues Support continuous improvement initiatives within the assembly and testing areas Assist with process improvements and team problem-solving Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required At least 1 year of mechanical assembly or industrial manufacturing experience Material handling experience required Ability to read assembly blueprints in English Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Knowledge of shop safety practices Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to cross-train and adapt to changing priorities Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Comfortable working in varying factory temperatures Willing to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed
