Askia Nurse (Registered Nurse) Approved Salary: $50-$55/hrSchedule: Full-time; weekends required, with half days on Friday and Saturday; start date ASAP; onsite The Askia RN is the clinical nursing presence in a residential recovery setting. This nurse supports residents' physical health, medication safety, and recovery goals while working alongside counselors, case managers, and Dimock's medical and OBAT teams. The role suits a nurse who is steady, organized, and comfortable practicing with a high degree of independence. The Askia RN provides nursing care in a residential recovery program, supporting residents' physical health, medication safety, and recovery goals in collaboration with counselors, case managers, and Dimock's medical and OBAT teams.
Essential Functions: Complete nursing health assessments at admission and on an ongoing basis, identifying medical and psychiatric needs that require follow-up. Oversee medication management, including storage, counts, administration or supervised self-administration, and documentation in accordance with BSAS regulations and Dimock policy. Support residents on medications for opioid and alcohol use disorder and coordinate continuity with OBAT and outside prescribers. Monitor for withdrawal, intoxication, overdose risk, and medical deterioration, and initiate emergency response when indicated. Coordinate primary care, psychiatric, and specialty referrals, leveraging Dimock's integrated FQHC services. Provide health education to residents, including overdose prevention, naloxone use, chronic disease management, and infection control. Maintain timely, accurate nursing documentation that meets regulatory and internal quality standards. Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and team meetings. Contribute to program readiness for audits, licensing reviews, and incident reporting requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.
Competencies: Ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment in a non-hospital setting. Steady, organized approach to practicing with a high degree of independence. Ability to collaborate with counselors, case managers, and medical and OBAT teams.
Work Environment: Residential recovery setting.
Required Qualifications: Active, unrestricted Massachusetts RN license.1-2 years of nursing experience. Current BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in addiction treatment, behavioral health, or residential care. Familiarity with MOUD and harm-reduction approaches. Bilingual (Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Cape Verdean Creole).Experience with electronic health records.
