About the role
Scope Of PracticeThis position is primarily hospital-based and includes:
Performing comprehensive patient histories and assessments
Daily rounding on hospitalized patients
Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
Managing consults and coordinating care
Participating in weekend and holiday rounding as assigned
Supporting outpatient clinic care as needed
Patient PopulationThe primary patient population includes adult inpatients, with occasional pediatric consults as clinically appropriate.

Training & SupportThe selected candidate will complete a structured onboarding program that includes:
Physician shadowing
Inpatient workflow orientation
Ongoing mentorship
Training is tailored to experience level, with gradual increases in patient care responsibilities. Independent rounding and call duties will begin upon physician-approved competency. Performance evaluations will occur at 90 days, 6 months, and annually.
RequirementsLicensed Physician Assistant
DEA license required
Preferred Skills & ExperienceGastroenterology experience preferred
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn
Clinical Knowledge IncludesUnderstanding of pathophysiology, patient presentation, and differential diagnosis
Patient management and disease prevention
Investigative and analytical approach to clinical problem-solving
Knowledge of GI conditions and treatment preferred
