About the role
- The Waste Processing Supervisor is a key position in overseeing the details of every order and ensuring they are executed through effective communications within the team and outside teams, departments, customers, transporters, etc.
- Maintain operational documentation including but not limited to reports, licenses, procedures, DOT requirements, and order requirements.
- Supervise team of technicians and oversee large projects and orders from receipt to settlement.
- Communicate with other sites to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and supplies.
- Manage scheduled pickups and deliveries, including maintaining communication with customer serviceteam to resolve issues or clarify requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local permit requirements.
- Communicate to management facility needs, difficulties, and changes in operations.
- Supervise segregation and packaging material for transport along with the completion of required paperwork in a legible, accurate, and timely manner in accordance with appropriate regulations and
- Customer/Clean Earth policies, practices, and procedures.
- Provide training and coaching to technicians and operators on-the-job in equipment operation, service line processes, and necessary paperwork.
- Operate fork trucks and other heavy equipment when properly trained to move materials for storage/loading and off-loading.
- Promptly report any incidents, injuries or safety concerns to management.
- Adhere to and abide by Clean Earth safety and security policies and procedures (e.g. Cardinal Rules, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), etc.)Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by management.
- Responsibilities may vary based on site level and/or location.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly without assistance and up to 75 pounds unassisted on occasion.
- Ability to push and pull up to 500 pounds using a pallet jack, hand truck, or other device to assist.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled environments.
- Visual acuity to read labels and documentation and sufficient depth perception to safely operate forklifts.
- Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes, alarms, and other audible safety signals.
- Ability and willingness to wear company-issued personal protection equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to, safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed boots, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.
- Ability to work overtime hours as needed based on business needs.
- Forklift certified with possession of safe driving record preferred
- Knowledge of RCRA, DOT, EPA, and state waste regulations
- Ability to operate manual equipment such as a pallet jack to load and unload trucks
- Ability to use a computer for web-based training and inventory tracking purposes
- Ability to understand and respond to written and verbal English
- Ability to deal politely with customers and team members
- Ability to lead an hourly team
