Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator Ascent Healthcare | Shelburne, Vermont Ascent Healthcare is growing, and we’re looking for a warm, capable, organized person to join our small team in a combined clinical + administrative role. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys patient care but also likes keeping things organized and making a medical office run smoothly. You’ll spend part of your time at the front desk helping patients and managing day-to-day office needs, and part of your time supporting our providers clinically.
What you’ll do: * Welcome and check in patients* Answer phones and assist with scheduling* Help manage messages, forms, records, and other administrative tasks* Collect payments and assist with basic front-office workflows* Room patients and obtain vitals* Perform blood draws and process specimens* Prepare exam rooms and supplies* Assist with medication and supply inventory* Support providers with clinical procedures and patient care as appropriate* Help keep the office organized, stocked, and running efficiently* Pitch in wherever needed as part of a small, collaborative team Who we’re looking for: We care much more about finding the right person than checking every box. You should be:* Friendly, kind, and genuinely comfortable interacting with patients* Highly organized and dependable* Comfortable working independently and taking initiative* Able to move easily between administrative and clinical responsibilities* Detail-oriented without losing sight of the person in front of you* Comfortable with computers and learning new systems* Someone who notices what needs to be done and does it Clinical experience is strongly preferred. Experience with phlebotomy and obtaining vital signs is especially important. Medical assistant, LNA/CNA, EMT, phlebotomy, or other relevant healthcare experience would all translate well to this position.
