ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Location: West Chicago, IL
Pay: $100,000–$110,000 annually
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, and accounting staff. This position will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, and improving accounting processes.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, A/P, A/R, cash activity, reconciliations, sales/use tax, and vendor rebate programs.
Manage A/R insurance programs and month-end/year-end close processes.
Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for accuracy.
Prepare and review monthly financial statements, management reports, and financial analysis.
Analyze variances and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax requirements.
Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff while ensuring deadlines and priorities are met.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, accuracy, and efficiency.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong general ledger and month-end close experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation and analysis.
Experience identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies and issues.
Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Supervisory or team leadership experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.
ERP experience required; NetSuite experience preferred.
