📍 Washington, DC (Onsite 5 Days/Week)📅 6+ Month Contract We are seeking an experienced Website Manager to oversee website content, publishing, and digital content strategy for a large organization. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Word Press, content management, web publishing, editing, and SEO who enjoys collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities: Manage, update, and publish website content using Word Press CMS.Build and maintain web pages, landing pages, campaign pages, and other digital content. Review, edit, and optimize content for readability, usability, accessibility, and engagement. Ensure content aligns with brand standards, editorial guidelines, and AP Style. Conduct content audits to identify outdated, inaccurate, or broken content. Maintain publishing calendars and coordinate updates with internal stakeholders. Apply SEO best practices, including metadata, page titles, keywords, and internal linking. Support website enhancement initiatives, content strategy efforts, and ongoing site improvements. Partner with marketing, communications, and other business teams to ensure content accuracy and effectiveness. Review content quality, functionality, formatting, and user experience prior to publication.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Digital Media, English, or a related field.4+ years of experience in website management, digital communications, content publishing, or web content editing. Hands-on experience with Word Press CMS.Strong expertise in AP Style, copyediting, and content quality control. Experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. Basic image editing experience using Adobe Photoshop. Strong understanding of SEO best practices. Excellent written communication, organization, and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with website accessibility standards and best practices. Knowledge of HTML/CSS for basic content formatting and troubleshooting. Experience supporting email marketing, social media, or other digital marketing initiatives. Familiarity with content strategy and editorial governance processes. Experience within nonprofit, higher education, or mission-driven organizations.
