HR AssistantMISSION - Montana Department of Corrections is creating a safer Montana through Accountability, Rehabilitation and Empowerment. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Assistant to join our Human Resources team. As an HR Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the department's daily operations, maintaining employee records, assisting with recruitment, and ensuring compliance with employment regulations. This entry-level position offers excellent exposure to all aspects of HR and is ideal for individuals looking to build a rewarding career in human resources.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate employee records
  • Support onboarding and orientation for new hires.
  • Respond to employee questions and address concerns in a timely manner.
  • Support management
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations and HR policies.
  • Operate office machines and manage filing systems (paper/electronic).Train employees in office practices, policies, and procedures (for advanced roles).Provide guidance for complex problems or escalated complaints (for advanced roles).Skills & Competencies

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED; One year of experience in human resources/ administrative assistant preferred.
