Job Summary/Basic Function The Department of Economics and Finance at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#113090) in Finance at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2026.
Key Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses. Conduct research in the following areas of finance: Corporate finance. Investments. Financial markets and institutions. Financial planning. Behavioral finance. Fintech. Related fields. Commitment to excellence in teaching and service. High-quality research leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Required Education: A terminal degree in finance or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution is required by the appointment date. Other Desirables Applicants with the following will receive special consideration: Professional experience in financial planning or wealth management. Holding designations such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or NABE Certified Business Economist (CBE®). Financial analytics and planning software (e.g., eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, Morningstar) experience. Data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, R, Python) experience. Demonstrated commitment to student engagement and experiential learning.
