About the role
General Manager - Boise, Idaho George Thomas Executive Search has been retained to appoint a General Manager for the Commercial Division of an established wholesale distributor of fuels, lubricants and propane in Boise, Idaho. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially focused operator to oversee sales, operations, purchasing, warehousing, facilities and people across the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving profitable growth, improving operational performance, strengthening customer relationships and developing a high-performing team.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the overall performance and day-to-day operations of the Commercial Division. Develop and execute business plans, budgets, KPIs and performance targets. Drive sales growth, market share, profitability and customer loyalty. Oversee purchasing, inventory, warehousing, logistics, facilities and asset utilisation. Build, develop and retain high-performing sales, operational and leadership teams. Maintain excellent standards of safety, compliance, service and operational performance. Identify new business opportunities and support acquisition, due diligence and integration activities. Ideal background 15+ years’ management experience, ideally within a distribution, industrial, energy, fuels or branch-based environment. A proven track record of delivering profitable growth and operational improvement. Strong financial, analytical and business-planning capability. Experience leading multi-functional teams across sales and operations. Excellent communication, leadership and people-development skills.
