About the role
Head of eCommerce- Hybrid - NYCThis is an opportunity to join a fast-scaling, venture-backed beauty-tech company selling direct-to-consumer, with a growing presence across major retail marketplaces and social commerce. They're recognised for pioneering personal care technology and are expanding into new product categories. They're looking for a senior digital leader to take end-to-end ownership of the DTC growth engine revenue, margin, and the strategic decisions that move both. It's the most cross-functional seat on the marketing team, spanning paid media, conversion, creative performance, and retention, with real judgment over where to focus effort for maximum impact. You'll have a small team and agencies to leverage. Your role is to set the strategy, build the systems, and be accountable for the results, not to run ads day-to-day yourself.
Core Responsibilities:
-P&L ownership - full accountability for DTC revenue and contribution margin-Acquisition strategy - setting direction and budget across core paid channels, with an eye on newer platform opportunities; managing the contractor against clear performance targets-Creative performance -running the testing engine for ad creative: new angles, iteration speed, and a disciplined process tied back to acquisition metrics-Conversion optimisation -the full Shopify conversion path: landing pages, product pages, bundling, checkout, and post-purchase upsells, working alongside dev resource-Retention & lifecycle - managing the CRM agency and driving results across email/SMS-Reporting rhythm -building the operating cadence: weekly scorecards, monthly forecasting, quarterly reviews This person sits across the whole growth funnel, top, middle, and bottom and decides where the highest-leverage problems are.
What We're Looking For:
-Proven experience of scaling a DTC brand-Strong hands-on experience with Meta and Google at scale, with a track record of profitable growth-Solid grounding in CRO, offer design, lifecycle/CRM, and structured experimentation-Track record managing people, contractors, and agency partners with clear accountability Helpful but not essential: background in beauty, skincare, wellness Benefits -Bonus incentives tied to growth and efficiency-Equity potential depending on seniority-Full health/dental/vision cover, unlimited PTO, hybrid working
