About the role
PanCare of Florida is seeking a licensed, patient-focused Optician to join our vision care team. In this role, you will play a key part in providing high-quality optical services to patients in our community, many of whom rely on PanCare for accessible and compassionate care. Working closely with optometrists, ophthalmologists, and clinical staff, you will ensure patients receive properly fitted eyewear, education on vision products, and an exceptional care experience. This position is ideal for someone who combines technical optical expertise with strong customer service skills and a passion for community health. This is a part-time position located in Panama City, FL.
Your responsibilities include the following: Assist patients with selecting, measuring, fitting, and adjusting eyeglasses Provide guidance on frame styles and lens options based on prescriptions, lifestyle needs, and insurance coverage Ensure proper fit, comfort, and functionality of eyewear through precise adjustments Educate patients on eyewear care, use, and maintenance Perform final inspections of eyeglasses to ensure lenses meet prescription and industry standards Accurately maintain patient records, including prescriptions and optical data Interpret vision insurance plans to support patient care and product selection Coordinate with optical labs and frame suppliers via phone and online platforms Maintain an organized, stocked, and clean optical dispensing area Collaborate with the vision care team to ensure seamless patient care and workflow Address and resolve eyewear-related issues and patient concerns professionally
Required Qualifications: At least 2 years of Optician experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a clinical or optical setting At least 5 years of Optician experience
