Company Description: Ulrich's Meat Market is a long-established meat processing establishment serving our customers and community faithfully for decades.
Role Description: The Retail Salesperson is a full-time, on-site role located at Ulrich's Meat Market in Pella, IA. This role is responsible for greeting customers, answering product questions, and guiding shoppers to appropriate meat, cheese and other selections. Daily tasks include handling sales transactions, maintaining clean and organized displays, replenishing stock, and ensuring accurate product labeling and pricing. The Retail Salesperson will monitor product quality, follow food safety guidelines, and assist with special orders or bulk purchases as needed. The role also involves collaborating with team members, supporting promotional activities, and providing a positive, efficient shopping experience for every customer.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong Retail Sales and Sales skills, including the ability to meet customer needs and support store revenue goals. Candidates should possess solid Product Knowledge related to meat and bakery items, with a willingness to learn and explain product features and recommendations. Candidates should possess effective Communication and Customer Service skills, with a focus on clear, respectful interactions and problem-solving. Ability to work standing for extended periods, lift and move products safely, and follow food handling and safety procedures. Basic math and point-of-sale (POS) skills for processing cash, card payments, and managing receipts accurately. Reliable attendance, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment. Previous retail, grocery, or food service experience is beneficial but not required; training will be provided.
