Role Description:
This is a full-time, remote Mortgage Loan Originator position. The Mortgage Loan Originator will be responsible for generating and managing a pipeline of residential mortgage loans from initial consultation through closing. This includes developing referral relationships, educating borrowers, taking applications, collecting required documentation, recommending appropriate loan products, and maintaining consistent communication throughout the lending process. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, relationship-focused, and comfortable generating business through prospecting, networking, personal marketing, and referral partnerships.
Responsibilities:
* Develop mortgage business through prospecting, networking, marketing, and referral relationships* Build and maintain relationships with borrowers, real estate agents, builders, and other industry professionals* Assess borrower needs and recommend appropriate mortgage products* Clearly explain loan options, qualification requirements, rates, fees, and the overall lending process* Take complete loan applications and collect required borrower documentation* Guide borrowers from initial consultation through approval and closing* Collaborate with processing, underwriting, closing, and other operational teams* Maintain consistent communication with borrowers and referral partners* Monitor mortgage programs, market conditions, and rate changes* Follow all applicable regulatory requirements and company policies Qualifications* Active Mortgage Loan Originator license in at least one Finofi-licensed state: AL, CO, FL, MD, NC, PA, SC, TX, or VA* Multi-state licensing is a plus* Residential mortgage origination experience preferred* Demonstrated ability to self-generate business and develop referral relationships* Proven record of meeting or exceeding mortgage production goals* Working knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and other residential mortgage programs* Understanding of borrower credit, income, assets, collateral, and general underwriting guidelines* Ability to explain loan terms, rates, fees, and financing options clearly* Strong consultative sales, communication, and relationship-management skills* Comfort using mortgage technology, digital applications, CRM platforms, and remote collaboration tools* Strong attention to detail, ethical standards, and commitment to regulatory compliance* Ability to work independently while remaining responsive, accountable, and engaged with the Finofi team If you are an experienced, self-driven originator looking for greater independence without sacrificing operational support, we would like to speak with you.
