Learn More Baystate Health is seeking a Part Time Exercise Physiologist for Cardiac Rehab Rehab
Schedule: Part time 24 hours/week Day (1st) shift
Summary: Responsible for providing patients referred to cardiac rehabilitation services with supervised exercise, progressive ECG monitored activity, education regarding cardiac event, disease management, risk factors, lifestyle modification and psycho-social support. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess the patient’s age specific needs and age specific treatments and care
Responsibilities will include: Conducts thorough assessments of all inpatients and outpatients referred to cardiac rehabilitation services and assesses appropriately for participation in therapies Develops exercise prescriptions and individual treatment plans specific to patient needs. The comprehensive plan will include education, exercise, behavior change and counseling. Monitoring progress and response to exercise via assesment of blood pressure, ECG, perceived exertion and patient symptoms. Directs care accordingly Maintains accurate patient program data and assists in outcomes measurement/management. Leads exercise and educational classes. Performs duties necessary for other departmental service.
What You Will Need: BLS, certification isrequired, ACLSrequired within 6 months of hire ACSM CES Preferred; ACSM RCEP Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or related field isrequired; Masters preferred 1 to 3 years clinical setting outpatient and inpatient.
Skills: ECG Interpretation, Arrythmia recognition. Able to work independently/autonomously and handle high volume and multiple task assignments in an organized fashion. Exceptional patient and customer service skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Displays enthusiasm and confidence with an ability to motivate self and others.
Education: Bachelors Degree (Required)
Certifications: Basic Life Support – American Heart Association, Corrective Exercise Specialist – National Academy of Sports Medicine, Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist – American College of Sports Medicine Compensation
Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
