About the role
- Administers and interprets audiological tests, including but not limited to puretone threshold testing, speech recognition testing, Strenger testing, acoustic immittance testing, and bone conduction testing
- Prepares related reports, maintains, and sanitizes the audiological suite, materials, and supplies.
- Read Order request(s) including any remarks, questions, directions, or requests for opinion; thorough review of medical history including service records and previous exams. This includes refuting previous medical opinions from previous examiners.
- Occasional removal of soft cerumen.
- A Doctor of Audiology degree (Au. D)A Master's degree or doctorate degree from a university accredited by ACAE, CAA, or ASHA Certification
- Manual dexterity to calibrate equipment
- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and using EMR and platforms
- Ability to perform focused evaluations on all bodily systems
- Skilled in professional communication, critical thinking, and informed-care decision making
- Works independently and can manage time in order to provide a quality service while meeting set deadlines
- Prior experience in clinical settings
- Prior VA or C&P experience
