About the role

About This RoleWalser Insurance Services is an independent agency, which means we shop your policy across 20+ carriers to find the right fit and make sure you never have to overpay for insurance again. We're growing fast, and we're adding to a small, high-performing team that punches well above its weight. This is an entry point into insurance. You do not need prior insurance or claims experience. Most of our team was trained from the ground up. What you do need is the ability to learn quickly, stay organized across a lot of moving pieces, and keep your footing when the phone doesn't stop. This role is fully remote, but you must live in the Twin Cities metro area. The team gets together roughly every other month for team meetings — most are optional, but we ask that you're able to attend in person at least once or twice a year. What You'll DoDay to day, you'll be the first voice our customers hear:Answer inbound calls and handle policy changes — adding or removing vehicles, adjusting coverage, updating driver and household informationField billing questions: why a rate changed, how to make a payment, what a renewal looks likeWork our cancellation list, following up with customers before a policy lapsesRun new business check-ins to collect required documentation — prior insurance, household verification, and other underwriting itemsSupport customers filing claims and help them navigate the carrier processDocument every customer interaction thoroughly and accuratelyManage return mail, daily logs, and agency spreadsheetsAs you build your foundation, the role grows:Quoting new policies across our carrier networkRenewal reshops — reviewing a customer's rate at renewal and shopping it against 20+ carriers to find them a better optionWriting new policies and conducting household annual reviewsIdentifying cross-sell opportunities and setting appointments with our life-licensed staffThis progression is the reason we're hiring. As you take on quoting and reshops, it frees the rest of the team to take on more — there's a clear path here, and we promote from within. What You BringCustomer service experience — call center, retail, hospitality, collections, telecom, or anywhere you've handled volume and difficult conversationsGenuine comfort with technology. On a normal day, our team has 20–30 browser tabs open across a dozen different carrier portals. This is the single biggest predictor of who succeeds hereAbility to multitask and pivot quickly between systems, customers, and prioritiesExcellent written and verbal communicationStrong attention to detail in documentationActive MN Property & Casualty license, or the ability to pass the P&C exam within 60 days of hireUphold Walser's Core Values: Do The Right Thing, Lead By Example, Display Positive Energy, Be Open MindedWe'll get you licensed. Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
