This role is pivotal in leading the strategic and operational aspects of the business, with a focus on expanding into the software and services layer of the laboratory market. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and owning the Lab Pilot product strategy, including P&L, product vision, commercial model, and competitive positioning. This is a build role that requires the VP to assemble and lead a high-performing product team, drive the business towards a market-leading position, and ensure the product portfolio aligns with commercial opportunities and technical feasibility. Applicants for the Vice President, Lab Pilot position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' experience in product management, software product leadership, or general management of a software or technology business, with a strong preference for those with a background in scientific instrumentation, lab informatics, or laboratory automation. The role demands a leader with a proven track record in P&L ownership, experience in building and leading product teams, and a working knowledge of lab informatics concepts. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, with an advanced degree being a plus, and a history of commercial model transformation. Strong executive presence, commercial confidence, and the ability to foster a product culture that is fast-moving, customer-obsessed, and commercially rigorous are essential for this position.
