About the role

About FIDO TechFIDO Tech is an AI‑driven technology business addressing one of the world’s most urgent challenges: water scarcity. Using advanced AI and acoustic technology, FIDO enables water utilities globally to detect leaks with unprecedented accuracy, speed, and cost efficiency. Beyond utilities, FIDO works with corporate clients to build a catalytic community between corporates, utilities, and technology providers helping organisations strengthen ESG reporting, improve supply chain resilience, and reduce water‑related operational risks across their global footprints. The role We are looking for a practical, safety-focused and customer-oriented Leak Detection Technician to carry out safe, accurate and efficient investigation, validation and confirmation of water leakage within water distribution networks. Reporting to the Field Operations Manager, this field-based role will also act as a frontline trainer, mentor and advocate for FIDO technology and associated field practices. Alongside delivering high-quality field investigations informed by FIDO technology, you will train and enable customers and delivery partners so they understand correct field techniques, data expectations and how to apply FIDO technology effectively to achieve non-revenue water outcomes. Location 1 position in Phoenix, Arizona; 1 position in Las Vegas, Nevada. Travel within North America and internationally as required.
What you’ll do: Deploy acoustic sensors on water networks in line with deployment plans and water utility requirements. Investigate potential leaks, validate findings and mark confirmed leaks for utility repair. Deliver field operations across FIDO Tech projects in line with agreed plans, priorities and operational standards, completing work safely and efficiently to required quality, technical and reporting standards. Provide Operations, Project Delivery and Technical teams with clear updates on progress, constraints, risks and field insights. Use field insight and data outputs to prioritise investigations that maximise volumetric benefit and delivery outcomes. Train and enable customers and delivery partners through on-site coaching and practical demonstrations, including step-by-step investigation methods, correct sensor use and evidence-capture standards. Reinforce correct field processes, data expectations and value messaging so customer and delivery teams understand what good looks like and why it matters. Work in full compliance with company policies, risk assessments and method statements, embedding safe practices for traffic management, lone working and situational hazard awareness. Use required personal protective equipment in all field conditions and in accordance with applicable OSHA standards, and participate in safety briefings, toolbox talks and incident or near-miss reporting. Ensure FIDO Sensors and Relays are deployed and used correctly in line with technical and operational standards. Act as a frontline advocate for FIDO technology, clearly explaining what we are doing, why it matters and how it supports operational outcomes. Provide actionable field feedback to Operations, Engineering, Commercial and other office-based teams to support continuous improvement of AI outputs, tooling and operating procedures. Travel across North America and internationally, sometimes at short notice, to support operational delivery, customer onboarding and training activities as project requirements evolve.
About you: Experience in field-based leakage detection or related water network investigation work. An understanding of water distribution networks, leakage behaviour and leakage validation requirements. Practical experience using acoustic listening devices, correlators or similar equipment is desirable. Experience working safely in operational or safety-critical environments. Strong practical investigation skills and a methodical, evidence-led approach. Ability to interpret data outputs and prioritise field activity effectively. Ability to communicate technical findings and training material clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong customer engagement skills and confidence coaching customers, partners and operational teams. Ability to undertake physical work outdoors in varied field conditions. A valid driver’s licence. An appropriate passport and any other documentation needed to travel internationally as required. What We Offer A mission with purpose: tackling global water scarcity with cutting edge AI and acoustic technology. Real world impact: see the direct results of your work through hands-on field investigations, customer support and improved leakage outcomes. Opportunity to collaborate with utilities, delivery partners and internal technical teams. Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
