About the role
- Create and maintain federal and locally regulated quality system documentation and programs, including HACCP, FDA, SOPs, GMP, SQF, and other related quality records and programs.· Distribute daily batch sheets and startup sheets according to the production schedule while working closely with the Materials department.· Prepare for and participate in customer and government regulatory audits as required and consistent with Food Safety Programs.· Maintain a current document master list and master files for all products, ingredients, and SKUs.· Develop and maintain a document review process to ensure prompt revision of documentation in support of audits, audit programs, and prerequisite programs.· Ensure all programs and documents are properly reviewed and approved.· Distribute revised documents to the appropriate locations and remove obsolete revisions.· Drive improvements in documentation and streamline processes using Standard Work and current documentation.· Develop and maintain SQF documentation, including manuals, SOPs, registers, and food defense programs, to ensure compliance.· Investigate and assist in resolving food safety issues.· Develop and maintain AIB documentation, food handlers' documentation, and USDA documentation.· Incorporate customer, FDA, and industry regulatory requirements into company documentation.· Maintain the hold log and assist with hold resolution.· Identify requirements for new SOPs, SSOPs, and work instructions and follow through with drafting, approval, training, verification, and implementation.· Perform audits to ensure the effectiveness and compliance of documented processes.· Proactively work with multiple departments to develop required documentation for a smooth transition from sample runs to production runs.· Maintain awareness of SQF Code requirements and monitor reported operational GMP and HACCP deficiencies and consumer comments.· Develop training materials related to Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) and conduct FSQ and related training as required.· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- High School Diploma· HACCP Certified· SQF experience· QI and PCQI experience/certification· Basic laboratory experience and manufacturing experience· Proven ability to follow written procedures and directions· Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel· Ability to read, write, communicate, understand, and follow directions/instructions effectively· Ability to process quality documentation accurately and within a timely manner· Spanish reading and writing skills preferred· Ability to work with minimal supervision· Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules· Ability to work required hours and overtime as needed· Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb, and/or sit frequently or throughout the duration of the shift· Must have appropriate eye, hand, and foot coordination to properly use various equipment and/or tools
