About the role

This is a hybrid position; in-person in Alexandria, VA three days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday).The Project Manager plans, executes, and delivers projects, operating cross-functionally to support various initiatives Academy-wide. This role requires leading with strong emotional intelligence, including building trust across departments, navigating competing perspectives, and bringing people together around a shared plan. This position is responsible for managing timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure initiatives are delivered on time and within scope. The Project Manager reports to the Chief Revenue & Operations Officer (CROO).
Key Responsibilities: For each assigned project, owns the schedule and makes recommendations on budgeting and resourcing needs to keep each project on track Leads end-to-end project management for cross-functional initiatives, from scoping through delivery and post-project review Builds and maintains project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations Builds trust and strong working relationships with stakeholders across every level of the organization Keeps project tracking software current and accurate, and uses it to report on progress Manages risks and issues across multiple concurrent workstreams with sound judgment and composure Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet requirements and deadlines Facilitates project meetings in a way that keeps people engaged, head, and aligned Adapts communication style to different audiences, follows through on commitments, identifies stakeholder concerns, resolves conflict constructively, escalates risks promptly, and builds consensus across teams with competing priorities
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field (relevant experience or certifications may be substituted for a degree)3+ years of project management experience Prior experience with project management or work tracking software High emotional intelligence; must be self-aware, empathetic, and skilled at building consensus among diverse stakeholders Demonstrated reliability, initiative, and a strong work ethic, with hands-on approach to seeing projects through to completion Excellent communication and active listening skills Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities Some local travel required; occasional domestic travel. The base pay for this role is $80,000-90,000 per year, commensurate with experience and education/certifications.
