About the role
The Farm and Forest Viability Program Coordinator channels funding and support to farm, food, and forest businesses that sustain Vermont's communities and landscapes. You'll manage grants and contracts from application through final report, reconcile budgets and payments, and keep project files organized. You'll gather participant feedback, help evaluate program impact, draft grant proposals, and make systems friendlier for the people who use them. You'll also connect with statewide networks like Farm to Plate, visit businesses in the field, and help weave equity into every stage of grant-making. This role requires grant management experience, excellent writing, and strong attention to detail. Experience with working lands enterprises, data analysis, or CRM tools preferred. Based in Montpelier with some remote flexibility. Applications due October 12, 2026. VHCB is an Equal Opportunity Employer and strongly encourages candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply. Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
