About the role
FPGA Engineer | Electronic Trading | New York / LondonI’m working with a quantitative trading firm looking to add an experienced FPGA Engineer to their technology team. The role sits closely alongside developers and traders, with responsibility for designing, implementing and optimising FPGA solutions used within a high-performance trading environment.
The role:
• Design and implement FPGA applications from the ground up• RTL design, synthesis, place & route and static timing analysis• Develop and maintain robust FPGA testing infrastructure• Work on software integration, APIs and hardware/software interfaces• Solve complex FPGA, hardware and software limitations• Work closely with developers and trading teams• Opportunity to take ownership of significant FPGA applications over time What they're looking for:• 5+ years' commercial FPGA engineering experience• Strong VHDL and Python• Experience with high-speed design and protocols• Strong understanding of Linux environments• Good coding and hardware design practices• Experience working collaboratively within a technical team• Strong knowledge in one or more of: networking, computer architecture or verification• Intermediate C/C++Location: New York or London Working model: On-site This would suit someone coming from a low-latency trading, electronic trading, HFT or similarly high-performance FPGA environment who wants significant ownership over the technology they build.
