Essential Job Functions: Assist in monitoring and controlling wastewater treatment processes, including screening, sedimentation, filtration, controlling pH and polymer dosing, and disinfection. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of treatment equipment, pumps, and tanks. Record operational data, maintain logs, and prepare accurate reports as required. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot, and if necessary, assist in repairing equipment and process issues. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures. Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in wastewater treatment operations. Monitor and operate pumps, valves, DAF, screeners, cake disposal and other equipment to control the flow and treatment of wastewater. Adjust chemical feed rates and other controls to ensure proper treatment processes, under the direction of the Lead or Technician II. Operates daily production. Respond to emergencies, such as equipment failures, power outages, or chemical spills, to minimize environmental impact and ensure continued operation. Coordinate the drivers and unload the tankers efficiently. Work with other technicians, drivers, and supervisors to optimize plant operations. Communicate effectively with team members and report any issues or abnormalities. Train new employees and share knowledge with team members. Other duties as assigned.
Desired Certifications: OSHA Certification or equivalent safety training is preferred.
What You Need: High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 3-4 years of related work experience in an industrial environment; coursework in environmental science, biology, chemistry, or a related field preferred. Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. This position may require occasional overtime or shift work, including weekends and holidays.
