PROMAN Staffing is honored to source and hire an Assistant Production Manager for our manufacturing client located in Romeoville, IL.This DIRECT HIRE opportunity is ideal for a proven manufacturing leader who excels at driving production performance, safety, quality, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities: Support daily production operations by monitoring schedules, staffing, workflow, materials, and production performance to ensure on-time delivery. Coordinate with production, maintenance, scheduling, and inventory teams to resolve operational issues and maintain efficient workflow. Track key performance metrics including productivity, downtime, labor utilization, quality, and schedule attainment while assisting with corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. Conduct regular floor audits to ensure compliance with safety, quality, housekeeping, and 5S standards. Support inventory accuracy, material availability, production reporting, and timely completion of production orders. Assist supervisors in achieving operational goals and maintaining consistent execution across shifts.
Qualifications: Leadership experience in a manufacturing, printing, packaging, document production, or related production environment. Working knowledge of production scheduling, labor planning, workflow management, quality systems, inventory control, and manufacturing operations. Experience tracking KPIs, productivity, downtime, quality, and operational performance metrics. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, and waste reduction initiatives. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting or ERP systems. Associate or bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
