With more than 250 practice locations and over 430 doctors across the United States, Specialized Dental Partners empowers specialists to focus on exceptional patient care while the organization delivers tailored business, operational, and strategic support.Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Area Manager will support and oversee day-to-day operations of the practices with full P&L responsibility. The successful candidate will work directly with the sites to improve processes & profitability, including identifying and implementing local growth initiatives. The individual will build and maintain exceptional relationships with doctors, practice managers and their teams. This will extend to new practices as they are acquired. This is also an opportunity to frequently travel in the field to support business decisions, leadership development, and operational efficiency (all critical to success). The Area Manager will balance the need for preserving each unique practice culture and brand, while ensuring future positive growth and innovation.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Supports strategic direction provided by Regional Manager and/or DirectorStrong partnership with SDP partners – HR, Finance, Marketing to ensure best practice throughout their areaBuild relationships and trust with doctors, Practice Managers and their teams Create schedule of practice visits to consistently show up in person and spend time with each timeFirst point of contact for practice level teams, ability to demonstrate self-awareness by asking the right questions to dig into the root of the issue and take appropriate partners if needed for next steps.Follow through on action items and next steps, with appropriate partners, as applicableAbility to keep emotions out of factual decision makingDe-escalating "urgent matters" from the practice level to give time to dig for details, involve appropriate partners, and make decisions consistent with the rest of the organization.Mentor and train Practice Managers on day to day operations, process improvement, best practices, etc. by conducting weekly visits. Focus on: Financials and metrics: teammate hours, clinical hours vs. budget, case conversions/case acceptance, collections and reconciliations, daily tracker, month end reporting, RCM functions, ordering and inventory managementPatient care: schedule efficiencies, marketing and referral activity, patient check in/out experience, phone and email etiquetteTeam engagement, training and developmentConsistent reporting and managing key practice KPI's Create a cadence and format that is used across all locations for the following: Days, volume and laboroverall volumeBasic understanding of P&L of individual practicesRequirements:5 years of progressive operational management experience with a record of success.Prefer consumer centric retail sector background.Multi-site, multi-state experience including full P&L responsibility, with the ability to adapt to a flexible location management model versus conformation to rigid standardization.Can manage multiple projects within a fast-paced organization.Can prioritize and execute solutions quickly and efficiently.Demonstrated business acumen and knowledge of staffing, capacity, ROI, budget, margins, service and product offerings, to implement and drive strategic and relevant operational outcomes.Good understanding and experience with HR issues.Has a great understanding of how to implement operational processes.Preferred Skills:Previous Dental Practice Management experienceHealthcare Operations experienceProficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Specialized Dental Partners, its affiliates, related companies and independently owned supported clinical practices are proud to be Equal Opportunity Employers.
