About the role

VP of Asset Management We are seeking an experienced VP of Asset Management to oversee the financial performance of a diversified real estate portfolio consisting of approximately 7,000 multifamily units, five net-leased commercial buildings, and 40 retail leases. This is a senior-level financial and strategic role, not a day-to-day property management position. The VP will focus on maximizing portfolio performance through budgeting, revenue growth, expense management, third-party property manager oversight, and lender reporting.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and oversee annual budgets across the portfolio Monitor revenue, expenses, P&Ls, and monthly financial performance Identify budget variances and performance issues before they become larger problems Hold third-party property management companies accountable to financial targets Oversee financial performance of approximately 7,000 multifamily units Manage financial oversight, renewals, and leasing activity across commercial and retail assets Work with leasing brokers to fill commercial and retail vacancies Review loan documents and monitor financial covenants Prepare and oversee lender reporting and proactively flag compliance risks Report portfolio performance and recommendations directly to ownership Partner with ownership on capital allocation and strategic portfolio decisions Qualifications 8+ years of real estate asset management, finance, or related experience Strong background in budgeting, P&L management, financial analysis, and portfolio performance Hands-on experience with multifamily, commercial, and/or retail real estate Experience overseeing third-party property management companies Ability to read and interpret loan documents and financial covenants Affordable housing experience is a plus Strong leadership, communication, and executive-level decision-making skills Highly proactive with the ability to identify problems and drive solutions independently This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced real estate finance and asset management professional to take ownership of a substantial and diversified portfolio while working closely with ownership on strategy and long-term performance.
