About the role
Senior Tax Associate – Alternative Investments New York, NYAbout the Opportunity We are partnering with a leading global alternative asset manager on a unique opportunity for a Tax Senior to support a major global alternative asset manager with a significant credit and real estate investment platform.
Responsibilities:
• Review investor tax deliverables, including Schedules K-1 and K-3.• Manage the preparation of Forms 1042-S and 8805 for foreign investors.• Draft quarterly LP tax estimate letters and assist with projected tax liability calculations.• Review federal and state partnership tax returns.• Work with internal teams to obtain and analyze books and records across funds and SPVs.• Coordinate with Big Four and other external tax advisors, managing the flow of information and reviewing work product for accuracy.• Support year-end tax planning and coordinate deliverables, strategy, and deadlines across internal and external stakeholders.• Assist with investment-related tax research and special projects across the broader credit platform.
Qualifications:
• 2-4 years of tax experience within public accounting and/or the financial services industry.• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or a related field.• Experience with partnership taxation, investment funds, or financial services clients.• Exposure to credit funds, hedge funds, private equity, real estate, or other alternative investment strategies preferred.• Familiarity with partnership tax compliance, K-1s, K-3s, withholding, and investor reporting.• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.• Strong organizational and project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Proactive, flexible, collaborative, and comfortable working in a client-facing environment.• CPA license or progress toward CPA qualification, with at least 3 CPA exam sections passed.
