About the role
As a strategic partner to the engineering teams of TikTok, we serve as in-house experts and industry specialists. Drawing on cutting-edge research, competitive insights and trend analysis, we help engineering leadership deliver sound strategic decisions focusing on three key areas: AI transformation, resource efficiency & planning, and frontier technology, and drive the organization to remain a sustained industry leader.- Industry & Trend Research: Closely monitor and research global AI industry trends (with a particular focus on AI Coding/Developer Productivity). Provide external perspectives and strategic insights to support decision-making for R&D and engineering teams within the international short video business.- Strategic Planning & Sustainability: Track cutting-edge AI technologies and their real-world implementations.Analyze critical shifts within the AI Coding landscape to help management balance business growth, technical R&D, and cost considerations, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the business from a strategic level.- Ecosystem Diagnosis & Metrics: Evaluate and analyze the current state of the overall R&D and engineering ecosystem through a mix of qualitative observations, deep-dive quantitative analyses, and the establishment/monitoring of key metric frameworks to pinpoint core bottlenecks and areas of improvement.- Strategy Design & Cross-functional Alignment: Design organizational strategies and team structures for the AI Coding initiative from an ecosystem, competitive, and business-centric lens.Partner with cross-functional product, business, and engineering teams to collaboratively drive project implementation.- Special Projects & Execution: Act as the primary strategic partner for relevant business units. Conduct dedicated analyses on critical business challenges, coordinate complex, high-impact initiatives, and deliver actionable strategies while driving them to successful execution.Minimum Qualifications:- Background: Bachelor's degree or above.- Analytical Skills: Strong data analytical capabilities, with proficiency in standard statistical and data analysis methodologies. A solid conceptual understanding of AI algorithms and core software development/coding principles is required.- Structured Thinking: Exceptional structured thinking skills with the ability to keenly identify and deconstruct complex problems. Adept at blending data-driven insights with user empathy to define and solve core issues.- Collaboration & Project Management: Outstanding cross-functional communication and collaboration skills. Proven project management capability with the ability to navigate both the depth and breadth of business modules, alignment with upstream and downstream stakeholders, and drive cross-team execution.Preferred Qualifications:- 5+ years of experience in tech industry strategy, software development, or related fields is highly preferred.- Ecosystem Knowledge: Deep familiarity with the internet industry value chain, key players, and the broader tech ecosystem. Hands-on experience in software development, programming, front-end, or back-end engineering is highly preferred.Req ID: A236646
